The Comedy Gold brief was to create pieces of design and merchandise utilising the quotes from four famous comedians; Jonathon Pie, Philomena Cunk, Mo Amer, and Bill Hicks. Naturally, humour played an important part in the ideation process.

Due to the need for the outcomes to be based on quotes from the comedians, as well as how they come across in their personalities, the research stage involved watching their routines and reading through interviews. The quotes chosen are what I personally found funny, as well as any that caused them to go viral.

Each comedian has a very distinct style and background, so every outcome reflects that. For example, Covid Vaccine crisps are from a funny line said by Philomena Cunk. Contrastingly, the hummus pays more homage to the culture of Mo Amer since he is Palestinian.

After an idea of the concepts were established, the majority of development occurred in the branding. Since the products are hypothetically meant to be sold as merchandise and therefore represent the comedian, it was essential they appeared polished.
