Research
Research
Researching this project meant looking into artwork that utilises the grunge aesthetic, such as works by David Carson for Ray Gun magazine. Grunge is not a design style I've had much experience with, so learning more about it conceptually was essential to the creation process.

Design
Design
The design process for this project uses analogue design methods such as collage and ink, which are then scanned into computer. This was inspired by some of the grunge magazines I researched, and it allowed for a much faster production of outcomes.

Due to the messy aesthetic of the designs, there was a considerable amount of trial and error in order to find the most aesthetically appealing "mess". It could not be excessive in order to preserve the legibility of the essential text promoting the event.

At the exhibition itself, it is important to keep the branding consistent. Therefore, the same types of textures can be seen throughout the project in order to maintain the brand identity and make easier product and brand association for the general public.
